Nigerian singer and actress Tiwa Savage our honorary Woman Crush Wednesday #WCW. Born Tiwatope Savage in Ikeja, Nigeria, she took part in various activities while growing up.
She took part in her school orchestra, playing the trombone.
Fast forward a number of years and Savage graduated with a degree in professional music at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, US.
The star grew up in Nigeria, the UK and then the US. Throughout her career, Savage has interacted with local and international artists. She has done back-up vocals for George Michael, Mary J Blige, Kelly Clarkson and Blu Cantrell, to name a few.
She collaborated with Mi Casa, Lola Rae, Sarkodie, Diamond Platnumz and Davido for the 2014 Africa Rising campaign. Some of her hit songs include Esopi Yo, Informate, Rain Drops and All Over.
Savage has won a number of awards for her work and will most likely continue to do so with her latest single, Get It Now.
