    Netherlands 0-0 Cameroon

    Lucy Ward

Former Leeds United Ladies striker on BBC One

The Dutch are trying to play as high and wide as possible, and it means that Cameroon are flattened out. There are spaces already between the full-backs and the centre-halves.

  2. Post update

    Netherlands 0-0 Cameroon

Shaky goalkeeping by Cameroon’s Annette Ngo Ndom but she escapes. She flaps at a cross, and then fumbles it under pressure from a Dutch attacker but eventually gathers.

    Netherlands 0-0 Cameroon

The Dutch are dominating so far, and Danielle van de Donk hits a shot well wide from 25 yards out.

  4. Post update

    Netherlands 0-0 Cameroon

Brilliant wing play by Dutch star Lieke Martens, who flies down the left and cuts inside. She is squeezed off the ball but Cameroon almost gift it back to the Dutch, narrowly escaping.

Vivianne Miedema is back on by the way. It wasn’t a serious injury.

    Netherlands v Cameroon (14:00 BST)

The scenario is simple enough for the Netherlands, win and they are in the last 16. Cameroon need something from this game really to keep their hopes alive.

The best four third-placed teams go through which is their best/only hope.

    Netherlands v Cameroon (14:00 BST)

    Casey Stoney

Manchester United Women manager on BBC One

Cameroon captain Christine Manie is 35 and she’s going to need every bit of that experience today. Her positioning is fantastic, she reads the game well, she’s full-blooded in her tackles and she steps in and gets the play going forward. She’s going to need to help that inexperienced side because they haven’t had a lot of preparation time coming into the tournament.

Vivianne Miedema’s movement between the lines is fantastic and she has different types of finishes. She can take a touch, shift it onto her left foot or her right, she can shoot first time, so you have to be on your A-game as a centre-back when you’re playing against her.

    Netherlands v Cameroon (14:00 BST)

There are plenty of Netherlands fans at the game in Valenciennes today, with the French city less than a two-hour drive from the Dutch border.

Dutch fans have bought 13,000 tickets, while large Cameroonian communities from Paris and Brussels are expected to make the journey too.

The crowd is a sea of orange.

A load of Netherlands fans dressed as carrots… as you do.

Did you know carrots weren’t orange until the 1600s, when patriotic Dutch growers favoured the colour?

The Dutch have some star players including Arsenal striker Vivianne Miedema, who was the top scorer in the Women’s Super League last season.

Barcelona’s Lieke Martens was the 2017 Fifa player of the year. Here was a nice bit of skill she did the other day.
