An Akwa Ibom State High Court directed by Justice Bassey Nkanang on Thursday, August 4, condemned Uduak-Abasi Akpan to death by hanging for killing a task searcher, Iniubong Umoren, GRASSROOT Correspondents reports.
Uduak-Abasi Akpan had baited Iniubong Umoren out of her home with a phony new employee screening, assaulted and killed her in April in the edges of Uyo.
GRASSROOT Columnists had revealed that he later covered her remaining parts in a shallow grave in his (Akpan) family house where the wrongdoing occurred.
Uduak-Abasi Akpan had in his confession booth explanation said:
“I previously utilized condom to have intercourse with Iniubong Umoren and later eliminated the condom since I didn’t partake in the sex. She became chafed and I connected with a stabilizer and a crate iron and utilized it to hit her stomach part and began to drained. I hit her once more and she shouted. I utilized her jean pants and choked her and she became dormant.”
Conveying judgment on Thursday, that’s what the court held:
“The utilization of perilous weapons, for example, a stabilizer and a case iron to go after fragile pieces of the human body like the head is an unmistakable pointer that demise was plausible the results of the activity.”
The Court viewed Uduak-Abasi Straightforward Akpan to be liable of assault and murder of Iniubong Umoren.
