Chelsea star Marcos Alonso has been one of the outstanding performers for the Blues this term and now Spanish outlet El Gol Digital claims that Real Madrid are lining up £50 million for the Spanish left-back in the summer transfer window.
Having started his career at Real Madrid, Marcos Alonso even made a league appearance for Los Blancos before having spells at Bolton, Sunderland and Fiorentina where he finally established himself as a world-class wing-back.
Ever since his move to Chelsea in 2016, the Madrid academy graduate has taken his game to the next level.
The Spaniard was visibly disappointed after his side’s Champions League elimination to Barcelona.
He said: “We can only look forward and start fighting for the fourth spot in the Champions League and try to win the FA Cup.”
With Real Madrid seemingly looking to groom 27-year-old as Marcelo’s long-term successor, the move might well come to fruition in the summer transfer window.
Alonso is one of the essential members of the Chelsea side and in the current transfer market scenario, a fee of £50 million looks a bit too cheap for a player of Alonso’s calibre.
