Basic freedom dissident and previous Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Center for Women Development, Onyeka Onwenu, yesterday approached President Muhammadu Buhari to pull out the Nigerian soldiers conveyed in south east and exchange with secessionist fomenters in the locale.
The solicitation was because of clamor over supposed extrajudicial killings of Igbo young people by the security agents.
Onwenu who talked at a question and answer session coordinated by the Credible Igbo Women Initiative, CIWI, in Lagos, communicated worries over the wanton killings in Igboland.
She said, “We come here along with one thing in our brain: harmony, love and value. Something terrifying is occurring in south east at this moment. I ended up coming from Imo state and I understand what individuals are going through there. Please, central government should stop the killings
A few group need to unsettle for choice, it is their right. A few group need to shout out that they are being underestimated, it is their right. Pay attention to them. You may not concur with them, however they reserve the privilege to talk. We are asking, we are asking, kindly we should plunk down and discuss what is happening. How about we call our kin who are upsetting, who are not content with the circumstance and converse with them. Nigerian government how about we talk. Pull out the soldiers from Igboland.
“I need to utilize this chance to contact our youngsters to accept exchange. Kindly, come how about we talk. We will represent the right of Igbo individuals”, Onwenu advanced.
In the mean time, CIWI, in a report read by Elvira Silas, denounced the careless spilling of blameless individuals by the security agents, and militarization of Igboland and clear danger by the government to utilize greatest power in managing the issue of weakness in the south east.
The report read to some extent, ” we approach the government to convene a security conference forthwith and stop the phlebotomy and eliminate executioner crew from Igboland. No more killings, no greater mercilessness, no greater badgering and terrorizing of our kids.
“We likewise approach the public authority to support and repay the people whose youngsters met their inconvenient demise in the possession of the shooters, both known and obscure.”
