Christians in Ondo State on Sunday joined their counterparts in other parts of the country in protest over the kllings of innocent people across Nigeria.
The Christians lamented that the spate of killings was becoming alarming and worrisome.
They wondered why the incessant killings have continued under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Sahara Reporters reports that the protest was organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Ondo State.
The aggrieved Christians shut down the capital city of Akure as they changed solidarity songs.
Many of the Christians were armed with colorful plarcards bearing anti-government inscriptions as they all marched to the Governor’s office.
Our correspondent reports that the protesting Christian faifthfuls did not allow the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, to address them on behalf of the Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu during the protest.
They vehemently raised their voices over the unchallenged killings in the country as they disrupted vehicular movement on the roads.
John Ayo Oladapo, Chairman of the Christians Association of Nigeria in Ondo State said the street protests was necessary as the killings of the innocent people was becoming too much in the country.
Mr. Oladapo said that the Christians community were already tired over the brutal killings under President Muhammadu Buhari’s goverment.
The CAN Chairman also asked the President to jettison his ambition of re-contesting the 2019 elections.
He condemned the lopsidedness in some of the appointments among the top security brass in the nation.
According to him, President Buhari should stop playing politics with the security of lives and properties of the people of the country.
“We are here today to register our displeasure on the ongoing killings across the country.
“We want to say the Christians in this country are not second class citizens, and will never allow these senseless killings to continue.
“Why is it that all our security chiefs are from the same region, we are condemning this appointment and we want our government to listen to us.
“Let President Muhammadu Buhari forget about 2019 for now and face security issues in the country, this is not the time for electioneering.
“We sent our letter to the Governor of our coming today and the letter was duly received by the office of the governor and since his inception he has been repeatedly ignoring us as Christan Association
“Finally, I want to tell our people to go out there and let us register to get our PVCs for us to the needful come 2019”, he added.
Felix Adejumo, Presiding Bishop of Agape Christian Ministry lamented the killings mostly in Benue state.
Bishop Adejumo explained that the brutal killings was aimed at wiping out the Christians in the country.
He noted that the leadership of the Christians Association would make sure it defend the christianity world.
He said that enough was enough as the Christians are ready to defend themselves against any attempt to silence the Churches.
“We have evidences that they want to silence the Churches but we will not allow them.

“The blood of innocent Christians killed that is crying for help in the country”, he said.
Earlier, Bishop Simeon Borokini said the security of lives of the people should be made a priority while condemning the senseless killing.
Borokini charged Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to rise-up to all the security threats in the Akoko region of the State.
