The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has broadened its strike by 12 weeks.

This was affirmed by the National Leader of ASUU, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke who addressed SaharaReporters on Monday morning.

The scholastic body took the choice at a crisis National Executive Council (NEC) held at ASUU Secretariat in Abuja.

The crisis meeting, which had in participation chief officials and branch directors, began on Sunday and finished early Monday morning.

Individuals from the association had set out on a one-month strike on February 14 over the disappointment of the Nigerian Government to respect the different arrangements came to with them.

A portion of ASUU’s requests incorporate the arrival of revitalisation assets for colleges, renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU understanding, arrival of procured recompenses for college teachers, and organization of the UTAS installment stage for the installment of pay rates and remittances of college speakers.

Following the lapse of the underlying four-week cautioning strike, the association had gone on to announce extra two months of modern activity, saying that it was giving the public authority additional opportunity to take care of its necessities.
