Some Secondary school understudies in Abeokuta, Ogun State, have apparently stoned the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Obantoko Division, Alimeke Ignatius, in the head, during a conflict in the city.

“The DPO was hit by stones. The understudies were tossing stones and different items at themselves during the battle,” Oyeyemi said.

When inquired as to whether any capture was made, Oyeyemi answered, “We can’t capture the understudies since they are minors. We can just confine and insight them, after which they will be delivered.”

In the interim, the state section of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has censured the assault, depicting it as “boorish and ridiculous”.

The state Chairman of PCRC, Samson Kunle Popoola, in an assertion endorsed by his media assistant, Babatunde Odeyemi, bemoaned the public issue by auxiliary school understudies in the state, saying; “assuming that this isn’t immediately checked, it might depict an incredible risk for the fate of this country.”
