BREAKING:EFCC Places Anambra Governor, Willie Obiano On Watchlist

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has set the officeholder Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, on a watchlist, in front of the handover of government in the state.

This was contained in a letter to the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) dated November 15, 2021.

The EFCC mentioned the migration to put Governor Obiano on a watchlist and illuminate it whenever he is going out of the country from any of the worldwide air terminals, just as different marks of passage and exit.

It is, notwithstanding, not satisfactory why the counter join organization put the lead representative on a watchlist.

Sources let Channels Television know that the move meant that the office might have been tactfully researching the lead representative and perhaps have insight that he was wanting to escape subsequent to surrendering capacity to his replacement, Professor Charles Soludo, on March 16, 2022.

Sitting lead representatives in Nigeria have insusceptibility from criminal indictment while in office.

Obiano, 66, will give up the initiative of Anambra to Professor Soludo in March 2022 when he finishes his two terms as legislative leader of the state.

At that point, he would have finished his eight-year long haul in office subsequent to winning the governorship political decision in 2013 on the foundation of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The lead representative had passed on the financial framework to join governmental issues prior to winning the political race to succeed previous Governor Peter Obi.

Then again, Professor Soludo – a previous Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, will succeed the officeholder lead representative, having won the political decision held before in November.

Flying the banner of the decision party in the state, he cleared to triumph, winning 19 of the 21 nearby government spaces of the state.

Applicants of the Peoples Democratic Party (Mr Valentine Ozigbo) and Young Progressives Party (Senator Ifeanyi Ubah) each won a neighborhood government.

Be that as it may, the up-and-comer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Andy Uba, couldn’t win any neighborhood government in the political decision.
