Contrary to wide held impression in Nigeria, Iboi is saying that white witches are not evil people. ”We liberate people from the evil people. We are messengers of God, and for over 23 years now, we have been speaking regularly in the media on some national issues’”.
Witches and wizards in Nigeria, have said that they were not surprised when the governing party in the country, the All Progressives Congress (APC) broke into factions.
They are claiming that they warned President Muhammadu Buhari whom they supported in the 2015 elections, against Senate President Bukola Saraki.
Spokesperson of the White Witches Association of Nigeria, (WHIWTAN), Dr Okhue Iboi, who made this known to our correspondent in a telephone interview on Tuesday, from his Lagos base in Western Nigeria, said they warned the leadership of the APC against playing ball with Saraki.
”We warned in 2015 that APC will crack because of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki. They did not seem to take us serious then. When the party broke into Reformed APC, we were not surprised because we saw it coming”, Iboi said.
Then, the witches had thrown their spiritual powers behind President Buhari and his administration’s anti-corruption war, claiming that their decision to support President Buhari’s anti-graft war was reached at an emergency meeting of the association at Ofosu, Edo State.
According to Iboi, ”as stakeholders in the project called Nigeria, we did not fold our arms and pretend that all was well with our country. We would not have been patriotic if we failed to support government at that critical period”.
Continuing, he said, ”in attendance at the Ofosu meeting were witches from the 36 states of the federation, including Katsina State, the home state of President Buhari”.
After the meeting, Iboi had claimed that he had the mandate of the association to make their decision public, and accordingly assured Buhari to be firm and resolute since the president had nothing to fear with their spiritual support.
”Treasury looters are even lucky that it is Buhari who is going after them. On our own, we had decided to wage a spiritual war against looters in the country, and our own punishment would have been harsher’’, he said.
