Breaking news: Marcos Alonso: ‘Alvaro Morata is unhappy

Morata’s first season at Chelsea’s hasn’t gone as smoothly as many hoped. Morata has suffered from goal droughts and injuries this year, and Alonso has confirmed it’s taken it’s toll:
Obviously he was not happy (at being omitted). He’s been through difficult problems because of back problems, but he just scored again the other day. I hope he’s at the World Cup.
The Chelsea striker has also suffered from a personal loss in the past few months after one of his close friends died.
Lopetegui on Morata’s World Cup chances
Spain manager Julien Lopetegui was also fielding questions from the media, and he was asked about Chelsea’s Morata.
Lopetegui was keen to send a message that Morata can still prove himself:
Of course Morata has a good chance of going to the World Cup and he knows it, he needs to show over these coming months what he can do.
Morata will be hoping to score goals as Chelsea aim to win the FA Cup and finish the season in the top four.
