APC Campaign Council: Tinubu Won’t Move FCT From Abuja To Lagos

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, has been accused of moving the Federal Capital Territory from Abuja to Lagos. The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council has denied these claims.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Council Director of Media & Publicity Bayo Onanuga stated that the claim was an “egregious lie.”
He stated, “The opposition PDP and their surrogate Labour Party have begun a multi-pronged desperate campaign of falsehoods after exhausting their arsenal of libel and character assassination against Tinubu.”
“One of the lies that is being spread, particularly in the North West of the country, is that Tinubu has plans to move the Federal Capital from Abuja to Lagos when he succeeds President Muhammad Buhari on May 29, 2023.
According to field reports, some elders employed by the People’s Democratic Party are giving some weight to this misinformation campaign.
“We are shocked that some people could come up with such an outrageous lie, all in the name of politics, in order to confuse our growing support base in that region.
“Let us emphasize that Asiwaju does not contemplate any such plan and will not act in such an ultra-unconstitutional manner,” the statement reads.
