    Tunisia – winners of the
tournament once, in 2004 – are testing Melvin Adrien from all angles.
Madagascar have made it to half-time without conceding.
They’ll need to properly regroup and rethink – and find some of that spirit
that has taken them this far.

  • HALF-TIME

    Madagascar 0-0 Tunisia

The half ends with Youssef Msakni testing Madagascar’s keeper.

It’s tame and the minnows head for their dressing room with their heads held high, while Tunisia’s players delay leaving the pitch as they form a huddle for a team chat in front of their fans.

Tunisia’s Sassi has not been particularly sassy tonight.

Ghailene Chaalali goes for goal about 25-yards out. It’s low and it’s awkward but Melvin Adrien gets a hand to it.

It looked as though it was probably going wide but Madagascar’s keeper was taking no chances there.

    Tunisia are after a penalty
but the referee’s having none of it – and he’s on solid ground. Just a coming
together, nothing more. VAR is available but no sense of it being needed there.

Earlier, Melvin was at full stretch
to keep out Tunisia’s free-kick. Madagascar cleared the resulting corner but it’s notable that when they
do, they’ve not got a single player in the Tunisia half, allowing the Carthage
Eagles to gather and build for another attack.

    Madagascar 0-0 Tunisia

It’s all level in terms of shots and shots on target but Tunisia have the edge in terms of possession. Will they use that to their advantage?

    It’s still very stop-start.

    Madagascar are definitely
more wary of getting forward. They are definitely suffering from that thing that you see
hit teams where they get unexpectedly far in a competition and fall into the
trap of playing the occasion, and not the football that got them this far in
    the first place.

    Madagascar 0-0 Tunisia

Romain Metanire looks to catch Mouez Hassen off his line as the Madagascar player lets fly from distance.

It lands on the roof of the net.

    That was a decent effort.

  • GREAT SAVE!

    Madagascar 0-0 Tunisia

Brilliant free-kick and an equally superb save!

Former Sunderland man Wahbi Khazri bends it over the wall and it is heading for the top corner before Melvin Adrien touches it on to the bar.

    Great stuff!

    Madagascar 0-0 Tunisia

Free-kick to Tunisia within scoring range.

Big chance for a team that has scored only two out-field goals at this tournament.

  • Post update

    Madgascar 0-0 Tunisia

Two fully committed sides giving it absolutely everything to book a semi-final date with Senegal on Sunday. Sadly, it’s not a classic with the tie punctured by too many niggly fouls.
